https://graf1x.com/color-psychology-emotion-meaning-poster/ According to this article, the red color is  the color of passion and drama, and that's always have been said of this color, however although it means passion it is used to refer to danger and power, so it's a color with many contrasts, it carries out many meanings. Then, orange which is a mix between red and the next color, yellow, it is said to be the color of encouragement and a motivating color. The next color, yellow, means optimism. It is a compelling color that conveys youthful, fesh energy. Me, personally, I love this color, however I didn't like many years ago. Blue is the most common color, in my opinion, since if you ask anyone I'm 99% sure that he or she would blue. This color means trust, it's the shade of the sea and the sky, it's thought to induce calm and convey tranquility, thta's why people love it. According to this article, green color is the color of growth and heal...

Hi! This week we will talk about a film that we've recently seen. The film that we choose is Bend It Like Beckham.  Jess Bharme is a fairly typical teen with dreams of becoming a world-class soccer player. However, she also comes from a very traditional Indian family thay believes a girls should not play around with boys, show her legs in public, or aspire to much beyond marrying a good Indian boy and raising a family. Unlike her traditional older sister, Pinky, who is preparing a lavish Indian wedding and a lifetime of cooking the perfect chapati. Wholeheartedly against Jess' unorthodox ambition, her parents eventually reveal that their reservations have more to do with protecting her, than with holding her back. When Jess is foced to make a choice between tradition and her beloved soport, her family must decide whether to let her chase her dream, be an a soccer player or follow a more orthodoz path.  Our favourites films and books:  ME BEFORE YOU (fil...

WEEK 12: THE FASHION SHOW

I have chosen this interview to Manolo Blahnik because I have found it very interesting and also very enjoyable.  Entrevista  In this interview, someone is asking Manolo Blahnik several questions related to fashion. First of all, the interviewer is asking him about the kind of shoes that he is wearing at that moment and this reply is the perfect one because he says that he is wearing the same kind of clothes that he wears when he started designing what show us that he is the same kind of person that he was. Then he relates that he started creating men shoes just because they were interested on it and also he tells that he was horrified with Balenciaga's trainers because they don't contribute to highlight the women's body and that he don't understand why people spend this incredible amount of money on them. Another great point of the interview is when someone asks him if shoes have lost their cultural or social meaning and he answers that today people only want to ...

The idea of going overseas to study can be daunting, with visions of  baffling languages or nights spent in isolation while you are gradually forgotten by your friends and family. However, the benefits of studying abroad, such as broadening your mind, improving  your career prospects and making friends from all over the  world. In today’s increasingly global society, it’s important to possess the skills to communicate across cultures, and this means understanding more than just a different language. Studying abroad helps you become familiar with the customs and traditions of the country in which you are studying, in addition to the language.  Consequently, you would  improve your second language skills, be ing surrounded by native speakers affords you the chance to immerse yourself in the language, which can expedite your retention and fluency. Furthermore, if you travel to a country in which the primary language is one you’ve studied in school, yo...

WEEK 10: REPORTS AND PROPOSALS

Hi! today we're going to see how is a proposal and a report and we will talk about their differences.  PROPOSAL INTRODUCTION  In a little over two decades we have witnessed the emergence of a new concept in retail buying for the American consumer—the convenience store. The United States government defines convenience stores as “food retailer(s) of limited lines in a freestanding sales area of 3,000 square feet, concentrating on selected fast-moving products” (Directory of Supermarkets, Grocery, and Convenience Store Chains, 1990). To this definition I would add that typically the products on the shelves of convenience stores are priced higher than those carried by their competitors.  RATIONALE FOR MY INVESTIGATION  While spreading across the country like politicians on a campaign trail, convenience stores appear to have maintained a fairly distinctive regional character. Uni-Mart and Sheetz are common names for these stores in central Pennsylvania,...

WEEK 9: URBAN LIVING

I think that New York is one of the most incredible cities in the whole world, and I think that it is my favourite city in the world too. However if we don't take care of it when we are 50, which means in 30 years, it would be completely contaminated and living there would be a risk for our health. So instead of it is my favourite city I don't know if living there would be a great idea in 30 years, because of the pollution that could have. This pollution could be a danger for our lives causing cardiovascular problems or asthma. So if we don't look after the incredible world that we have it will became very very dangerous. As I said before, New York is my favourite ever so I would love living there, but I think that just for a time because it is too big and too noisy and at the end I would get crazy. Another city I would like living is London or Paris, because they both are incredible and there is so much to discover and learn. Also an idea quite different is Hawaii, b...
